The story begins with - Dragons. The dragons live in a place call dragon valley. They were living in peace, until one day when their friend, a rat name Rosa, rushed to them and inform them that humans are coming to invade them. The oldest dragon in the valley, Slatebeard, called a meeting. All the dragons gathered together and Rosa spilled the news to them. However, not all dragons believe her. Some of the dragons sneered; some insisted on staying in the valley and try to scare the humans off. Firedrake, one of the younger dragons, was the only one who believe it. Slatebeard told the dragons to go to a place call the Rim of Heaven, and Firedrake was the only one who decide to go. As Slatebeard was too old to fly anymore, he stayed at the valley with the rest of the dragons. Slatebeard decide to give Firedrake some information on the Rim of heaven. However, Firedrake only got some information as Slatebeard could not remember much, but one thing Slatebeard said quite clearly, was that he warn Firedrake to beware of the Golden One. Rosa added on that they could find her cousin who lives in the city and her cousin would give them a map which would help them get to the Rim of Heaven. Firedrake set off under the moonlight, taking Sorrel, a forest brownie, with him. Along the way, they met a boy, Ben, who helped them a lot and Firedrake decide to take Ben with them as Ben had no family. Later on, after they had got the map from Rosa's cousin, they continued on the journey. Along the way, Sorrel got caught by some archaeologists. They met a kind archaeologist, Professor Greenbloom. He saved Firedrake's life in a cave when Firedrake encounter a basilisk. They continued on their way after Professor Greenbloom had tell them that his friend Zubeida had make a new potion which can help dragons fly without relying on moonlight. On their way, they met a homunculus named Twigleg. Unfortunately, they did not know that Twigleg is Nettlebrand, the Golden One, armor cleaner, and Twigleg is acting as a go-between between them and Nettlebrand. Twigleg is also the one who is feeding Nettlebrand information on where the Rim of Heaven is, as Nettlebrand is born to eat dragons, and he is greedy on eating all the dragons that is in the Rim of Heaven. On the way, they asked a djinn where the Rim of Heaven lies, and continued on their journey after that. Twigleg decided to help Firedrake instead of Nettlebrand. In the end, they found the Rim of Heaven. Together with a dragon there, Maya, Firedrake and Maya defected Nettlebrand. Ben and Twigleg went to live with the Greenblooms. Sorrel stayed at Rim of Heaven with Firedrake. The story ended off with a happy ending.This story is classified under fantasy, as the story isn't real. I quite like the story, as it's very lively and almost real. The story is full of adventure and humorous-ness. I like this kind of stories as i prefer lively stories instead of gloomy stories.
